Shivani is a registered primary school teacher, school counsellor and psychologist. She has over 13 years of experience working with children, adolescents and their families. Working previously as a primary teacher and, also with teachers in a counselling role has allowed Shivani to understand the complexities of a classroom and deliver evidence-based practice in the fields of psychology and education. She has worked closely alongside parents, educators and agencies to help meet the needs of children and improve educational and wellbeing outcomes.

Shivani is passionate about helping people from different backgrounds and listening to their own unique stories. She takes on a client centered approach, where the client is the expert! Shivani believes that we all have strengths and qualities within us to overcome challenges and lead more fulfilling lives. She aims to provide a warm and safe space for clients to explore issues without judgement.

Shivani has a good understanding of the developmental stages of children and young adults, and uses evidence-based approaches such Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to help clients meet goals set by them.

Shivani has experience in working with numerous presentations including: Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Specific Learning Disorder (Dyslexia), anxiety, Intellectual Disability/Difficulty, behavioural problems, grief and loss and low self-esteem.
