The WIAT-III

The WIAT-III is often used to assess a student’s strengths and weaknesses, inform decisions regarding eligibility for educational services, as well as assess for specific learning disabilities. It can also be particularly useful for schools when they are required to complete an Individual Learning Plan for a student. The WIAT-III is commonly used in conjunction with a cognitive assessment.

Assessment Process
  • Initial Consultation: This is a 1-hour intake consultation with the primary caregiver/parent and is focused on obtaining relevant background information.
  • Academic Achievement Assessment: The WIAT-III is administered with the child/adolescent during a 2-hour appointment.
  • Psychologist Report: A comprehensive report based on 3-4 hours of clinical time is provided with results and recommendations.
