OUR STORY

Take Control Over Your Mental Health

“I can’t find a good psychologist near me”, “I don’t know where to begin”, “what sort of help do I even need?” We hear this all the time!

We get it. Taking that first step can be daunting. Confusing. And even a little bit confronting. So then, why is therapy so often cold, clinical, and impersonal? Why is it so difficult to find a psychologist?  That’s never made sense to us. And that’s exactly why Unbound Minds was born.

We exist to offer you a warm and inviting space where you can bring your true self. We’re about making sure that you’re heard, understood, and ultimately empowered with the right life tools and strategies.

We do things differently. We look at things holistically and we apply the most proven science and evidence-based techniques in a highly personalised, engaging, and compassionate setting.

FAQ

Take The First Step Today

How do I prepare for my first session?

An intake form will be sent to your email address once you’ve booked your first appointment. This is a short form and shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to fill out.

There’s no right or wrong way to prepare for your first session. Just bring yourself! We’ll take things at whatever pace you’re most comfortable with.

If you’ve had any reports or assessments completed previously, do bring them along as they may be beneficial.

Do I need a referral for my first session?

You’ll need a Mental Health Care Treatment Plan from your GP if you’d like to claim your sessions under Medicare.

No referral is needed if you’d like to see your psychologist privately.

Do you provide school visits?

Yes – we are able to go out to childcare centers, pre-schools, and schools to provide therapy for children.

The psychologist will work with your child’s school to ensure that therapy can occur in an appropriate setting.

How do I get a Medicare rebate?

You’re eligible for a Medicare rebate if you have obtained a Mental Health Care Treatment Plan from your GP. This will entitle you to a rebate of $93.35 per session with a maximum of 10 sessions per calendar year. You are entitled to up to 40 sessions under an Eating Disorder plan.

The psychologist will automatically process the rebate for you after each session.

We do not currently provide bulk-billed sessions through Medicare.

What kind of assessments do you offer?

We offer a range of diagnostic assessments for both adults and children, including assessments for:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • ADHD
  • Academic Achievement
  • Behavioural
  • Intellectual Functioning
  • Functional Capacity
What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that things come up and appointments sometimes need to be moved around.

We can help you move or cancel your appointment provided we have at least 48 hours’ notice. To make a change to your appointment, please call 1300 151 110.

For changes made within 48 hours of your appointment, the full fee will apply. You can access our full cancellation policy here.
